SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata 300-450 μm high and 180-330 μm diam., at first cleistothecial and globose to barrel-shaped, becoming apothecial and deeply cupulate, very reduced, containing a single ascus. Peridium pale yellow above and olivaceous to reddish brown below, membranous, not dextrinoid, composed of two layers of thin–walled polygonal cells to 15 μm diam., ith thick-walled hyaline rhizoids at the base, with 10-15 pale setae arising from the lower to middle part part. Setae 180-350 × 7-17 μm (at their base), superficial, acicular, straight, roots hardly developed, hyaline to pale yellowish, not dextrinoid, with 2-7 septa, thick-walled. Interascal tissue not seen. Ascus 250-450 × 200-325 μm, pyriform, extending well beyond the peridium, thick-walled but not fissitunicate, sessile, with a rounded apex that dehisces with a split, not blueing in iodine, multi-spored (>1000). Ascospores 11-12.5 × 9.5-10.5 μm, globose to subglobose, aseptate, smooth, hyaline or very pale yellow, thin-walled, oil drops and de Bary bubbles absent, lacking a gelatinous sheath or perispore.
