Cilioplea coronata (All Fungi)
General description:
Ascomata 0.2-0.4 mm diam., setae short and blackish. Peridium 20-40 µm thick. Interascal tissue of paraphysoids 2-3 µm diam. Asci 90-120 x 10-15 µm. Ascospores 26-36 x 6-11 µm, (3-)5- to 8(-11)-sepate, with 0-1(-2) longitudinal or oblique septa in each segment.
Associations:
On dead stems of a wide range of herbaceous and semi-woody plants. In GB&I, on dead stems of Cynoglossum and Ulex.
Distribution:
Only two records from GB&I, from NW & SW Wales (Anglesey, Pembrokeshire).
