  Family: Unknown familyGenus: Cercidospora
SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata perithecia, immersed in the thallus of the host and more rarely in apothecia, visible on the surface as black spots 60-80 µm diam., scattered or in small clusters; 140–180 μm diam. and 200-220 µm tall, globose-pyriform with a broad neck that hardly extends beyond the surface of the hymenium. Peridium hyaline to pale brown below, strongly aeruginose or ± brownish blue around the ostiole, 8–12 μm thick toward its base, 30-35 µm thick in the pigmented ostiolar region, composed of thin-walled isodiametric cells. Interascal tissue of abundant rather thick-walled cellular pseudoparaphyses ca 2 μm diam, only scarcely branched and anastomosed. Asci 57-70 (-85) × 10-11.5 μm, cylindric-clavate, the base tapering and the apex rounded, thick-walled and fissitunicate, mostly 4-spored but occasionally 2-spored. Ascospores 21.5-25.5 x 5.5-6 µm, narrowly ellipsoidal to ovoid-fusiform, hardly constricted at the ± median septum while in the ascus but sometimes strongly so when free, hyaline, smooth, without a perispore.
