Verrucaria ochrostoma, on the right hand side, with V. nigrescens on the left. The tiny, pale grey areoles of V. ochrostoma sometimes appear to overgrow other species as here. The thalline nodules of Lecania inundata are similar and also overgrow V. nigrescens on limestone gravestones.
