Lecania naegelii, section through exciple. LGBI2 states that this species has a thalline margin which is weakly developed, lined by a darker, persistent proper margin. That interpretation seems difficult to resolve with what is observed. The exciple contains no algal cells and appears to a single structure resembling a proper margin.
