Lecania naegelii, hymenium (stained with ink-vinegar), the arrows indicating the presence of branching and anastomoses. LGBI2 states that the paraphyses are 'simple or forked above'. Recent investigations using several specimens show that branching and anastomoses are quite frequent, occur at all levels in the hymenium, and that anastomoses are rather more frequent than branches.
