SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascostromata 50-70 µm diam., in compact clusters on moribund parts of the host leaf, apparently superficial, globose, ostiolate, the ostioles papillate. Peridium black, with immature fruit-bodies bright blue in the ostiolar region; composed of 2-3 layers of dark brown thick-walled ± globose cells 8-12 µm diam. Interascal tissue not seen. Asci few, in a basal fascicle, 49-60 (-69) x 27-32 µm, pyriform, sessile, thick-walled and fissitunicate, the apex rounded with a shallow ocular chamber, 8-spored. Ascospores 19.5-24 x 8.5-9.5 µm, cylindric-ellipsoidal with broadly rounded ends, usually 3-septate, distinctly constricted at the slightly supramedian primary septum, not or hardly so at the secondary septa, golden brown, fairly thin-walled, smooth, without an epispore, gelatinous sheath or appendages.
