SUMMARY
Anamorph: a Trichoderma with smooth hyaline conidia.
Teleomorph: stromata to 30 mm diam. and 2 mm thick, sometimes but often densely aggregated, broadly pulvinate, yellowish to almost white. Surface ± smooth, the ostioles visible as minute olive-brown dots, not or hardly papillate. Ascomata perithecia, ± in a single layer, 200-250 µm x 150-220 µm, globose or broadly pyriform. Peridium 15-20 µm thick, the base thicker, bright yellow in lactic acid, orange-red in 3% KOH, particularly in the upper parts. Asci (60–) 75–90 × 3.5–4.5 μm, the stipe to 20 μm long, cylindrical, the apex truncate with a minute refractive apical ring, not staining in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged uniseriately, hyaline, 1-septate, fragmenting at the septum, cells ± equivalent in shape, ellipsoidal to cylindrical, the upper cell 3.5–4.5 (–5.5) × 2.5–3.5 μm, the lower cell usually slightly longer, smooth or finely roughened.
