SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecia, (0.2-) 0.3-0.7 (-1.0) mm diam., erumpent from the upper or lower cortex of the host thallus, ± sessile, discoid to shallowly lenticular, pale grey to pale orange-yellow, sometimes becoming fuscous towards the rnargins, waxy, translucent when moist, without a clear margin, the exciple absent. Hymenium 55-70 µm tall, not blueing in iodine. Subhymenium composed of irregularly shaped swollen chains of cells to 15 x 6 µm in size. Interascal tissue of paraphyses 3-4 µm diam., sparsely branched from the base, hyaline, not swollen at the apices, the upper part often with granular contents, immersed in a gelatinous matrix. Asci 40-50 (-60) x 8-10 µm, elongate-clavate to subcylindrical. the lower 5-8 µm often stalk-like below a slight constriction, thin-walled, with a single functional wall layer, the apex not thickened and with a broad pore-like indentation of the inner wall, contents I+ orange (Lugol's iodine after pretreatment with KOH), discharging by rupturing at the apical "pore", 8-spored. Ascospores irregularly arranged, (8.5-) 10-12 (-14) x 2.5-3.5 (-5) µm, narrowly ellipsoidal, sometimes slightly asymmetric, the apices rounded, aseptate, hyaline, smooth-walled, often guttulate.
