SUMMARY
Phomopsis species (anamorphs of Diaporthe, the correct name for the holomorph) are common inhabitants of dead and dying plant tissues. They have historically been assumed to be host-specific, but modern phylogenetic research indicates that many species are plurivorous. In many cases, identification can only be carried out effectively using molecular methods. Images of unidentified species are included, listed by host genus as the only practical way of ordering them.
