SUMMARY
Anamorph: no information available.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecia, 20-30 µm diam., initially cupulate but often eventually becoming expanded and flattened, sessile, the disc dark violet or purplish brown. Outer surface greyish to light brown, pruinose and sometimes mealy in appearance, the flesh pale violet, staining pale blue in iodine. Interascal tissue of unbranched paraphyses, distinctly clavate and somewhat curved at the apex, which contains purplish brown pigment. Asci to 300 x 15 µm, cylindrical, very long-stalked, operculate with the apex truncate and blueing in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged uniseriately, 11.5-13.5 x 6.5-7 µm, ellipsoidal, aseptate, hyaline to pale yellow, minutely verrucose, without an epispore or gelatinous sheath.
