Anamorph: conidiomata thyriothecia, 90-350 µm diam., somewhat irregular in outline but usually ± circular, and sometimes coalescing, strongly flattened but with small blisters scattered over the surface, black, opening with irregular radial splits. Upper wall composed of a single layer of radially arranged dark brown thick-walled rectangular cells 4-5 x ca 2 µm in size, sometimes slightly bifurcate at the tip. Lower wall composed of an amorphous layer of thin-walled grey-brown ± isodiametric cells, from which conidia are formed directly. Conidiogenous cells part of the lower wall, 4-5 µm diam., doliiform, pale brown, with a single conidiogenous locus and probably proliferating percurrently, periclinal thickening and collarette not visible. Conidia 7-8 x ca 1.5 µm, cylindrical to cylindric-ellipsoidal, the ends rounded, aseptate, hyaline, thin-walled, smooth, without an epispore or gelatinous sheath. Teleomorph: not known.
