SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascostromata perithecia, 200-300 µm diam. and 300-400 µm high, pyriform, immersed in host tissue with a short conical neck 70-100 µm long and 50-70 µm diam., dark brown, the surface of the substratum often pink- to red-pigmented. Interascal tissue of thin-walled pseudoparaphyses 2-3 µm diam., longer than the asci. Asci 120-135 (to 180 µm fide Walker 1980) x 4-5 µm, numerous, long cylindrical with a short foot-like base, fissitunicate, thickened to 2 µm at the apex (to 6-7 µm in immature asci). Ascospores helically arranged and probably longer than the ascus, 1.5-2 µm diam., filiform, the apex obtuse and the base acute, indistinctly multiseptate, pale yellowish brown in mass, without an epispore, gelatinous sheath or appendages.
