Cryptodiaporthe galericulata
SUMMARY
Stromata small pustulate swellings; ectostromatic disc small, whitish, usually containing 1-6 definitely grouped ascomata. Ascomata 240-450 µm diam, necks scarcely emergent, separate, 100-200 µm thick, periphysate. Peridium 30-35 µm thick. Asci 64-80 x 8-12 µm. Ascospores 18-26 x 4-5.5 µm, often 4-guttulate, slightly constricted at the septum, appendages 5-7 x 2.5 µm when present.
Description contributed by Graham Kinsey (IMI). Mejía et al. (2011) note that an LSU sequence of a specimen from the USA determined as this species suggests that it belongs in the Sydowiellaceae rather than Gnomoniaceae, but a definite placement was not specified.
