Dothidea tetraspora
General description:
Similar to, and possibly synonymous with Stylodothis puccinioides. The only material studied is old and fragmentary, but perhaps does not have the asci developing from a pulvinate cushion of cells at the base of the locule. It could therefore be more appropriately placed in Dothidea rather than Stylodothis. The original description included discordant elements, with collections cited from Daphne laureola and Ulex. The description and illustration clearly shows the fungus on Daphne, and the material on Ulex can be referred to Stylodothis festinationis.
Associations:
On dead stems of Daphne laureola.
Distribution:
Only definitely known from the original collection, from VC80 Roxburghshire.
