Lecidea huxariensis
General description:
Thallus pale, inconspicuous, endoxylic.
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecia, to 100 µm diam., black or dark brown, flat or rarely convex, sessile, with a colourless hypothecium. Interascal tissue of paraphyses with dark apical caps forming an olivaceous epithecium. Asci 12- to 16-spored with a Lecanora-type apex. Ascospores 5–7 × 2–4 µm, ellipsoidal, aseptate.
Conservation status:
Not formally assessed. Only reported from one locality in GB&I, but likely to be overlooked.
Distribution:
In GB&I, reported from VC96 E Inverness. Widely distributed in northern and central Europe.
Habitat:
On decorticated wood in a felled pine plantation.
