Gnomonia tetraspora (All Fungi)
General description:

Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata absent. Ascomata 180-320 µm diam, the neck central, 100-150 x 70-200 µm, enlarged at the base, straight, emerging level with the epidermis. Peridium 10-15 µm thick, composed of 3-4 layers of compressed cells. Interascal tissue absent. Asci 45-52 x 6.5-9 µm, 4-spored. Ascospores 12-15 x 4.5-5 µm, cylindrical to narrowly ellipsoidal, thick-walled, the septum median, appendages broad and either short and blunt or long and tapered, each cell containing 1-2 guttules.
Associations:
On dead stems of Euphorbia.
Distribution:
From England (West Gloucs).
