General description:
Anamorph: unknown.
Teleomorph: Stromata absent. Ascomata pseudothecial, globose, radially setose predominantly on the apical hemisphere, black to dark brown, superficial, developing on a subiculum of septate interwoven hyphae. Peridium composed of polyhedral brown-walled cells, darker at the exterior but becoming paler to hyaline at the interior. Interascal tissue absent. Asci cylindrical-clavate to saccate, ± sessile to short-stalked, thick-walled, fissitunicate, J-, 8-spored. Ascospores narrowly ellipsoidal to fusiform, slightly clavate, hyaline to faintly brown (possibly becoming darker), multiseptate.
