Description:

Parmelia sulcata, a lobe with inconspicuous pseudocyphellae and punctiform soralia. Such specimens have sometimes been mistaken for a species of Punctelia. The lower surface, being black, has led some lichenologists to make erroneous records of Punctelia borreri.
