Gyalecta truncigena, growing on a limestone gravestone at West Winterslow, Wiltshire. The thallus is scurfy and the apothecia small (<0.5 mm diam.). Colonies of this species on shaded monuments could be easily overlooked as dingy brown algal crusts.
