Description: 

Aspicilia grisea, growing on a sarsen stone, Fyfield Down, Wiltshire. The thallus, in this case, is of convex, medium-grey areoles, among which circular soralia are present. The population at Fyfield, as well as other occurrences in southern England have a K+ yellow thallus (rather than K+ red).
