Calicium tigillare VC11B

Description:
Calicium tigillare, ascospores. Most of the ascospores are typical of this species being 1-septate (rather than becoming sub-muriform as in C. notarisii). However, just above centre of image are two presumably anomalous ascospores which are more than two-celled. This collection is from an oak gatepost in VC 11 (Hampshire) and was determined by Peter James.
