Description: 

Parmeliopsis ambigua, growing on a sandstone gravestone in VC 16, West Kent. Xanthoparmelia mougeotii is more typical of this habitat and is very similar in appearance, though slightly more glossy and with K+ and Pd+ medullary reactions. The medulla of P. ambigua is C-, K-, KC-, Pd- (and UV+ glaucous white).
