Lecidella scabra, abundantly fertile thallus growing on a sandstone memorial, VC 20, Hertfordshire. Note that soredia production has been suppressed in the most fertile portion of the thallus. Care is required not to misinterpret fertile material as L. carpathica (which has similar apothecial pigments and a non-sorediate thallus).
