Acarospora privigna, growing on a sandstone gravestone, VC 24, Buckinghamshire. This specimen has a moderately thick, brown thallus and rather sparse apothecia. A. privigna is very 'aggressive' towards its substratum and sand grains can be seen which have been plucked from the underlying stone and incorporated into its thallus.
