SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata perithecia, on the thallus and apothecia of the host lichen, 200-250 µm diam., ± globose to pyriform with the apex flattened, the ostiole broad and urceolate, scattered or in small groups of 2 to 6, the basal third to half immersed, black, glossy, rough-walled. Peridium uniformly dark-pigmented, 10-25 µm thick, 25-30 µm thick in the ostiolar area, composed of 4-6 layers of thick-walled angular to prismatic cells. Periphyses absent. Interascal tissue composed of branched and anastomosed pseudoparaphyses 1.5-2 µm diam., without a gelatinous coat. Asci 50-100 x 12-21 µm, cylindrical, short-stalked, thick-walled and fissitunicate, with a broadly rounded apex and a small ocular chamber, not staining in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged biseriately, 14-16 x 7-9 µm, ovoid with broadly rounded ends, almost always aseptate, hyaline, verruculose when mature, with a thin perispore when young.
