Colonies: scattered, pulvinate, to ca 1 mm diam., often extensively coalescing forming structures to ca 30 mm diam., reddish brown, powdery, composed of a layer of poorly differentiated conidiophores bearing chains of conidia. Mycelium mostly immersed. Anamorph: Conidiophores poorly differentiated, sometimes branched, composed of 1-3 doliiform cells, paler and less constricted at the septa than the conidial chains. Conidiogenous cells not clearly differentiated from the conidiophores, apparently not proliferating. Conidia in sparingly branched chains, 5-7.5 x 3.5-4.5 µm, broadly ellipsoidal, pale to mid brown, aseptate, with narrow scars 1.5-2.5 µm diam. at the apex and base. Teleomorph: not known.
