Species:
Xenonectriella leptaleoides
SUMMARY
Collected as a Pronectria sp., but has a K+ purple perithecial wall. It has 8-spored asci, with 1-septate, hyaline to pale brown, verrucose-warted ascospores, 9.5–10(–12) × 4.5–5 µm. It was originally described as a Pronectria from Colombia by Etayo in Bibliotheca Lichenologica 84: 97–99 (2002) and later transferred to Xenonectriella. It has since been recorded from Guatemala, Ecuador and Peru, on several species of Leptogium s. str. It is apparently new to Europe.
