SUMMARY
Thallus greenish to olive green, thin (40-60 µm), forming indistinctly cracked ecorticate patches of goniocysts (soredium-like granules with the algae completely enclosed by pseudoparenchymatous fungal tissue), not gelatinous, with yellowish-brown pigment in the upper part. Photobiont green algae with cells 5-10 µm in diam., sometimes in small groups.
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata perithecia, 150-180 µm in diam., ± globose, prominent with the upper half usually exposed, or covered with a thin thalline layer. Involucrellum absent or thin, then completely enveloping the peridium, to ca 25 µm in thickness. Peridium brown. Interascal tissue absent, periphyses to 18 µm in length. Asci 65-80 x 22-27 µm, 8-spored. Ascospores 16-28 x 8-13 µm, aseptate, without a sheath.
