SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecia, 150-270 µm diam.; slightly immersed at the base to superficial, reddish to dark greyish brown, initially ± closed, becoming expanded; when mature cupulate, the margin often irregular, undulating, covered by whitish hairs. Exciple reddish to orange brown, without dissolving K+ reddish pigment, N - , the cells subglobose, with conglutinate walls. Excipular hairs (10-) 17-30 x 3-5-4 µm, hyaline to brownish, ± straight, without an apical hook, sometimes covered by minuscule granules dissolving in K. Subhymenium, hymenium and epihymenium hyaline or pale. Interascal tissue of paraphyses, hyaline, filiform, septate, not or rarely branched, not or slightly thickened at the apex. Asci 27-34 x 4-5-6 µm, clavate to subcylindrical, the wall thickened near the apex, with a distinct ocular chamber, not staining in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores 5-7 x 2-2-5 µm, ellipsoidal to cylindric-ellipsoidal, hyaline, aseptate, smooth-walled, without a distinct epispore or gelatinous sheath.
