SUMMARY
Anamorph: no information available.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecia, to 2 mm diam., sessile, the disc whitish or tinged flesh-colour, surrounded by long straight bright yellow hairs. Hairs slender, tapering, acute, rather thin-walled, septate, pale sulphur-yellow or almost hyaline at the tip, not granulate but bearing numerous scattered hyaline crystals and granules that are easily detached when the hairs become wet. The yellow pigment diffuses into KOH solution with no change in hue. Interascal tissue of unbranched lanceolate paraphyses to 5 µm diam., often extending somewhat beyond the asci. Asci 45-50 x 4-5 µm, cylindrical, the apex acute, not staining in iodine, 4- or 8-spored. Ascospores arranged biseriately, 10-15 x 1.5-2 µm, fusiform-ellipsoidal, straight or slightly curved, aseptate, hyaline, thin- and smooth-walled, without an epispore or gelatinous sheath.
