SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascostromata perithecia, 50-75 (-80) µm diam., ± globose, scattered, only about one quarter immersed in the host thallus, black, glabrous. Peridium composed of rather broad flattened epidermoid cells ca 5 µm diam., irregularly pigmented dark brown in the basal part and ± completely occluded in the exposed part of the fruit body. Interascal tissue of sparse short pseudoparaphyses ca 2 µm diam., branching not observed. Asci initially ovoid, becoming saccate when mature, 29-33 (-35) x 9-10 µm, ± sessile, thick-walled and fissitunicate, with a broad, poorly defined ocular chamber, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged irregularly, 10-11 x 3.5-4 µm, obovoid, somewhat constricted at the ± median septum, the upper cell distinctly broader than the lower cell, hyaline, thin-walled, smooth, without an epispore, gelatinous sheath or appendages.
