SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecia, 0.8 × 0.5 mm to 4.5 × 1.7 mm, suborbicular to elongate in outline, immersed in rotten wood, without a distinct opening mechanism and becoming exposed by breaking through or sloughing off the outer substratum layers, which are sometimes slightly blackened immediately around the hymenium. Disc pure white and slightly farinose, sometimes pale beige to grey in dried material. Interascal tissue composed of filiform paraphyses 1.5–2.0 μm diam., with irregular narrower branches in the apical part, with a crystalline epithecial layer. Asci 105–140 × 13–16.5 μm, cylindrical, short-stalked, fairly thin-walled, not fissitunicate, the apex obtuse and sometimes slightly attenuated and thickened, not staining in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged biseriately, 18–26 × 5.5–8 μm, l/w ratio 2.9–4.2, narrowly reniform, the ends sometimes slightly tapered, hyaline to pale yellow, aseptate, fairly thick-walled, smooth, without an epispore, gelatinous sheath or appendages.
