SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata absent. Ascomata perithecia, ca 200 µm diam., subepidermal, not becoming erumpent, scattered or rarely confluent, globose or slightly subglobose, with a minutely papillate hardly protruding ostiole. Peridium pale brown, dark brown in the ostiolar region, composed of 2-3 layers of pale brown thin-walled angular to epidermoid cells. Interascal tissue composed of very thin-walled unbranched paraphyses 3-4 µm diam., slightly tapering towards the apex. Asci 65-85 x 7.5-8.5 µm, cylindrical, the stalk fairly short and gradually tapering, slightly attenuated towards the apex, the apex rounded to truncate, thin-walled, not fissitunicate, with an inconspicuous refractive apical ring, not staining in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged obliquely uniseriately, (9-) 9.5-11.5 (-12) x 4-5 (-5.5) µm, ellipsoidal with rounded ends, hyaline, (2-) 3-septate, rather thin-walled, smooth, without a gelatinous sheath or appendages.
