SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata absent. Ascomata perithecia, arising singly, scattered, erumpent, hemispherical, the base applanate, ca 400 µm diam. and tall, lacking a distinct basal fringe, the ostiole somewhat depressed, black; peridium dark reddish-brown, consisting of subglobose to polyhedral cells mainly 4-6 µm diam, strongly occluded with melanized material, the basal tissue poorly developed, continuous or interrupted. Interascal tissue of pseudoparaphyses ca 1.5 µm diam., narrow, persistent, numerous, septate, frequently branched and anastomosing. Asci 80-115 x 19-22 µm, elongate-clavate to subcylindrical, short-stalked, fissitunicate with a distinct internal apical beak, 8-spored. Ascospores (18-) 20.5-24 (-25) x (7.5-) 8.5-10 µm, biseriately arranged, clavate-ellipsoidal, 1 -septate, constricted at the septum, the cells equal in size or the lower slightly narrower, apices rounded, greenish in water and olive brown to reddish brown in KOH, slightly verruculose, with a thin gelatinous sheath that deliquesces at maturity.
