Family: MicroascaceaeGenus: Parascedosporium
SUMMARY
Anamorph: conidiomata not known. Synnemata to 350 µm tall and 25-30 µm diam., hyaline to pale straw-coloured, composed of parallel hyphae 2-2.5 µm diam., the apex slightly splayed, each hypha bearing a single terminal cylindrical conidiogenous cell 2-2.5 µm diam., proliferating with annellides to form a dry unbranched chain of conidia. Conidia 7-8.5 x 2.5-3 µm, cylindrical to narrowly cuneiform with the broadest part near the apex, the apex rounded and the base rounded to truncate, aseptate, hyaline, thin- and smooth-walled, without a gelatinous sheath or appendages.
Synanamorph with mononematous conidiophores, not strongly differentiated from vegetative hyphae, with lateral conidiogenous cells, 6-20 x 1.5-2.5 µm, proliferating sympodially with 2-5 denticles. Conidia 5-6 x 3-4 µm, obovoid, aseptate, hyaline, smooth- and rather thick-walled.
Teleomorph: not known.
Description of the synanamorph derived from Lackner & de Hoog (2011).
