SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascostromata perithecial, not stromata, strongly aggregated in swarms on dead host tissues, 60-75(-80) µm diam., ± globose, immersed with the ostiolar region slightly papillate. Peridium composed of 2-3 layers of fairly thin-walled mid brown angular cells 7-11 µm diam., thicker-walled and more strongly pigmented in the ostiolar region. Interascal tissue absent. Asci 27-32 x 7-9 µm, ovoid-cylindrical with the upper part extended, ± sessile, the apex rounded, thick-walled and fissitunicate with a fairly inconspicuous ocular chamber, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged biseriately, 9-10.5 x 2.5-3.5 µm, clavate-ellipsoidal, the apex obtuse to rounded and the base rounded, constricted at the single median to slightly supramedian septum, the upper cell mostly slightly broader than the lower cell, hyaline, smooth, without a gelatinous sheath or appendages.
