SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata absent. Ascomata perithecia, visible from the surface as irregular black partially erumpent domed structures; 350-500 µm diam. and 500-600 µm tall, obpyriform with a broad central neck 100-200 µm long and 100-250 µm diam., lined with periphyses. Peridium 20-35 µm wide, comprising several layers of dark brown compressed cells. Interascal tissue of numerous paraphyses ca 3 µm diam., filamentous, flexuose and embedded in a gelatinous matrix. Asci 150-290 x 6-10 µm, cylindrical, not fissitunicate, with a long tapering stipe, the apex rounded, with a J- subapical ring, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged uniseriately, 16-19 x 5-6 µm, cylindric-ellipsoidal, hyaline, 2-septate, strongly constricted at the septa, quite thick-walled, surrounded by a broad gelatinous sheath.
