SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata 0.7-1.2 (-1.5) x 0.3-0.4 mm, elliptical in outline, the ends rounded, apparently deeply immersed with poorly defined margins, wall usually dark grey to black, but in some collections pale grey with a narrow dark line at the margin, with a single longitudinal opening slit with poorly to well-developed lips. Interascal tissue of paraphyses 1.5-2 µm diam., circinate, typically bent rather than coiling, often also irregularly swollen near the tips. Asci (90-) 115-130 (-150) x (7.5-) 9.5-10.5 (-11) µm, narrowly clavate, tapering gradually to a small, truncate apex with undifferentiated wall, 8-spored. Ascospores (45-) 60-75 (-95) x 1.5-2 (-2.5) µm, straight when released, tapering gradually to the base, apical gelatinous cap globose, 3·5-5 µm diam., basal gelatinous cap cylindrical, 4-6 x 1.5-2 µm, gelatinous sheath ca 5 µm diam.
