SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata 400-650 µm diam., forming a black spot on the upper surface of the leaf, ± lenticular, brown, containing a single ascoma. Ascomata perithecia, 190-230 µm diam., 60-100 µm high; neck papilliform or short, not exceeding the level of the substrate by more than 100 µm, emerging on either side of the host leaf. Interascal tissue absent. Asci produced horizontally within the perithecium, cylindrical with a rounded apex, tapering at the base, apically somewhat thick-walled, with a single discernable wall, with a I- refractive apical ring, 8-spored. Ascospores lying in parallel within the ascus, 95-110 x ca 1.5 µm, filiform, tapering towards the ends, hyaline, smooth, thin-walled, 6- to 8-septate, not constricted at the septa, often with short disc-shaped appendages at one or both ends.
