SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata thyriothecia, 100-150 µm diam and 75-100 µm tall, strongly convex, black, the margin entire. Upper wall one cell thick, composed of radially arranged quadrangular cells 4-6.5 µm diam. Ostiole central, not or hardly raised, surrounded by convergent setae forming an elongated cone. Setae 23-35 x 4-7 µm, dark brown, aseptate, smooth-walled. Lower wall one cell thick, composed of brownish quadrangular cells. Interascal tissue of poorly developed paraphysis-like hyphae 1.5-2.5 µm diam. Asci 60-75 x 12-14.5 µm, obclavate to ± cylindrical, 8-spored. Ascospores (14.5-) 16-17 x 5-5.5 µm (15.5-18 x 4.9-5.5 µm in GB&I material), hyaline, slightly constricted at the single ± median septum, smooth, the upper cell with three pairs of lateral flexuous hair-like setae inserted together near the septum, without a gelatinous sheath or appendages.
