SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata absent. Ascomata perithecia, 95-140 (-180) µm diam., subglobose, black, half-immersed to almost superficial. Ascomatal wall composed of 4-6 layers of strongly melanized and often ± occluded angular flattened cells. Interascal tissue not seen, perhaps becoming evanescent before the asci mature. Asci 54-65 x 18-19 μm, clavate, thin-walled and not fissitunicate, with a short tapered stipe, the apex acute to obtuse, apical structures not seen, not blueing in iodine, (6-) 8-spored. Ascospores 12.2-15.4 (-17.5) x 6.1-7.7 µm, cylindric-ellipsoidal, hyaline, strongly constricted at the ± median septum, the ends obtuse to rounded, the base sometimes slightly more obtuse, thin-walled, smooth, without a gelatinous sheath or appendages.
