SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata perithecia, immersed in galls 150-200 µm diam. in the host thallus; 170-220 x 100-140 µm, pyriform; the peridium ca 20 µm thick, brown, K+ greenish, formed by several layers of elongated cells. Interascal tissue composed of evanescent paraphyses. Periphyses lining the ostiole, externally dark brown. Asci 57-65 x 12-13.5 µm (when 4-spored), to 85 µm in length (when 8-spored), clavate to ± cylindrical, the apex obtuse, thin-walled, not staining in iodine, usually 4- to 6-spored (8-spored in some collections). Ascospores 12.5-15 x 6-7.5 µm, ellipsoidal, slightly to somewhat constricted at the ± median septum, thin-walled, with a minutely spinulose ornamentation that dissolves in KOH, without an epispore or gelatinous sheath.
