SUMMARY
Anamorph: Phaeoisaria-like, only known in culture (Réblová et al. 2018).
Teleomorph: ascomata perithecia, 300–350(–400) μm diam., globose to subglobose, immersed to partially erumpent with protruding necks, solitary or in groups, dark brown to black. Neck central, 90–110 μm diam., to 800 μm long, cylindrical, straight or slightly flexuous, glabrous, tapering, apex sometimes sulcate, lined with periphyses. Peridium fragile to leathery, composed of an outer layer of thick-walled brown polyhedral cells, merging into an inner layer of thin-walled hyaline flattened cells. Interascal tissue of paraphyses, 4.5–10 μm diam., tapering, becoming evanescent with age, septate, constricted at the septa. Asci 55-65 x 6-7 µm, cylindrical to narrowly clavate, with a short stipe, the apex truncate, with a distinct apical ring ca 3 µm diam. and 1.5 µm thick that does not blue in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores (6.7-) 7.4-7.8 x 3.5-3.9 µm, ellipsoidal to ellipsoidal-fusiform, sometimes slightly inequilateral, hyaline, 1-septate (sometimes becoming 3-septate fide Réblová et al. 2018), longitudinally striate, with a large guttule in each cell.
Description adapted in part from Réblová et al. (2018).
