Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata 250-350 µm diam. and 350-500 µm tall, erumpent in clusters from a weakly defined basal stroma, pyriform to ovoid with a short, rather broad tapering neck, dark brown to black. Peridium membranous, smooth, thin, composed of 2-3 layers of mid brown thin-walled angular cells covered by a poorly defined web of dark hyphae. Interascal tissue not seen. Asci 130-170 x 25-32 µm, clavate, long-stalked, thin-walled and evanescent, without apical structures, 8-spored. Ascospores 28-33 x 10-12 µm, broadly allantoid to geniculate, aseptate, smooth, thin-walled, with a narrow gelatinous sheath.
