SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata perithecia, (140-) 170-22 µm, scattered, superficial, subglobose, becoming pale orange to dark orange, not collapsing when dry, not changing colour in KOH or lactic acid, covered with hyaline to pale yellow thick-walled non-agglutinated hypha-like hairs 30-47 µm long and 6-7 µm diam. at the base, septate, gradually tapering towards the ± obtuse tip. Peridium 15-20 μm thick, composed of an outer layer of very thick-walled pale yellow cells with the lumina often almost occluded, and an inner layer of thin-walled flattened cells. Interascal tissue not seen. Asci 65-78 x 7.5-9 µm, narrowly cylindric-clavate, thin-walled and not fissitunicate, the apices ± truncate, without an apical ring, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged biseriately, 13.5-15.5 x 3.7-4.2 µm, fusiform-ellipsoidal, the ends obtuse, slightly constricted at the single ± median septum, striate, without an epispore, gelatinous sheath or appendages.
