SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecia, 300-800 µm diam., obconical to urceolate, pale yellowish to orange, setose, gregarious, sessile. Disc ± flat, without a distinct margin. Setae arising superficially from the lower and median parts of the fruit body, stiff, straight, hyaline, pointed, slightly swollen at the base, not rooting, (60-) 250-500 µm long, 10-18 µm diam. at the widest part. Ectal excipulum 9-11 µm thick, composed of 3-4 layers of epidermoid, horizontally oriented cells 8-12 x 4-5 µm in size. Medullary excipulum of hyaline, thin-walled, narrow cells. Subhymenium inconspicuous. Hymenium containing multiple asci, not staining in iodine. Interascal tissue of simple or branched paraphyses with yellowish contents, filiform, septate, slightly inflated at their apices to 3-4.5 µm diam. Asci 150-190 x 15-17 µm [-24 µm fide Doveri 2004], cylindrical, rounded above, very slightly tapering, long-stalked, operculate, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged irregularly biseriately, 19-20 (-22) x 10-11.5 µm, ellipsoidal, rounded at both ends, hyaline to subhyaline, thick- and smooth-walled, sometimes with a conspicuous deBary bubble, without a gelatinous sheath or appendages.
