SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata perithecia, 100-150 µm diam., arising singly, scattered or in small clusters, ± superficial, subglobose to ovoid-cylindrical, black, ostiolate, with smooth-walled dark brown to black hairs arising from the upper part of the ascoma. Peridium composed of several layers of flattened angular cells to 8 µm diam., the outer layers dark brown and the inner layer much paper, the outer layer with dark brown thick-walled ovoid to knob-like processes ca 8 µm long and 5 µm diam. Peridial hairs 30-50 µm long and 3-3.5 µm diam., dark and thick-walled, the apices obtuse. Interascal tissue absent, periphyses not seen. Asci 58-70 x 23-28 µm, obpyriform, thick-walled, fissitunicate, the apex with an elongated internal canal, 8-spored. Ascospores irregularly arranged, 22-26 x 7.5-8.5 µm, ellipsoidal to cylindric-ellipsoidal, the apices obtuse to rounded, 3-septate, strongly constricted at the septate when mature, hyaline, thin-walled, smooth, without an epispore or gelatinous sheath.
