SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: Ascostromata perithecia, 150-200 µm diam. and 180-300 µm high, globose to pyriform, scattered or in small clusters, the substratum sometimes discoloured brown. Peridium 25-35 µm thick, composed of thick-walled brown polyhedral cells 5-9 µm diam., paler and thinner-walled towards the base. Ostiole 20-35 µm diam., sometimes surrounded by thick-walled dark brown bluntly pointed setae 20-30 x 3.5-5.5 µm in size. Interascal tissue of cellular pseudoparaphyses 1.5-2 µm diam., branched and anastomosed. Asci (60-) 80-95 x 11-13 µm, cylindrical to cylindric-clavate, short-stalked, the apex rounded, thick-walled and fissitunicate with a conspicuous ocular chamber, not blueing in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores biseriately arranged, (17-) 18-21.5 x 4.5-5 µm, fusiform to cylindric-fusiform, 4- or 5-septate, ± constricted at the septa when fully mature, the third cell from the apex often swollen, hyaline, thin- and smooth-walled, surrounded by a narrow gelatinous sheath.
