Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata absent. Ascomata 200-300 µm diam, black, slightly flattened, the neck short, 100-170 x 50-60 µm and scarcely if at all exceeding the host surface, sometimes scattered but more often in groups with 2-6 necks emergent together. Peridium 15-30 µm thick, composed of 3-4 layers of compressed brown cells, neck composed of elongated anastomosing brown hyphae. Interascal tissue absent, periphyses 1.5-2 µm diam. Asci 20-25(-30) x 4-6 µm, elongate-clavate, 8-spored. Ascospores 6-7 x 2-2.5(-3) µm, narrowly ellipsoidal, sometimes slightly curved or inequilateral, aseptate, often 2-guttulate.
